It looks paternally over the campus and beckons all, regardless of race, creed or color to enter its hails of higher learning. The facade is made of sandstone and its straight and simple architecture is the keynote to our methods of education. It is the first thing we see when entering D.H.S. and it is the last we see upon leaving it. It stands as an inspiration and we hope its picture on the front of our book accomplishes the same. Supervised study and individualized assignments characterize modern education DHS is progressive school with flexible program to suit each student’s need. Student-faculty relationship is one of friendly cooperation A far cry from Dover's first High school occupying one room of a little four-room schoolhouse on Second Street is the present three-story, thoroughly equipped building. An entire block is used for the six-yeor high school, which offers four courses. Academic, Business, Vocational, and General, from which the student may select the one best suited to his capabilities and choice of a life-work. Supplementary to his course of study, nearly every student chooses several activities from the expansive extra-curricular program. Governed democratically by a Student Council, an efficient administrative group, and a forward-looking Board of Education, Dover High School is capably performing its task of preparing future citizens of America for the challenges of the adult world.
