Almost everyone l1ved from one school dance to another for soc1al act1v1t1es became flrst 1n our agenda By th1s t1me we knew the ropes and were able to get 1nto much m1sch1ef and out of It w1th nothmg to show Many members of the class belonged to clubs or were on athlet1c teams Dur1ng thxs year the r1fle team was started w1th many boys and g1rls of the jun1or class as members Someth1ng new was started ln the school the traff1c system 1n the halls Pup1ls were to keep to the1r rlght and go around teachers who served as traff1c 1slands where there were 1ntersect1ons The school also started the1r own rad1o stat1on the mter commum cat1on system Th1s el1m1nated the need for not1ces to be brought to each room and lt allowed two way communlcatxons to one room at a t1me and one way to all rooms The w1nter sports events at Dover H1gh were h1ghl1ghted by the annual Carnwal Ball Durmg the even1ng a Queen chosen earl1er by the student body was crowned and two members of the jun1or class Betty Morrlson and Leona Leblanc had the d1st1nct1on of bemg a1ds to the Queen who was a sen1or The Ball was a success and was enjoyed by all The rest of the year was fa1rly rout1ne unt1l the t1me of the Jumor Prom T1ck ets had to be prlnted sold and money collected Posters had to be palnted and placed 1n d1fferent local1t1es and schools The two most xmportant parts were the decorat1ng of the gym and the h1r1ng of the orchestra We decorated the gym 1n the sen1or class colors blue and s1lver w1th comets and stars form1ng the background The decoratlons were centered around the sen1or class motto F1n1shed Yet Be gmmng After all of the expenses were deducted we had a good s1zed prof1t wh1ch was used for our sen1or year We tr1ed our best to gxve the Sen1ors the best Prom ever and we really thmk we succeeded Near the end of the year Audrey Cloutman was elected Presldent of the Student Counc1l She 1S the second g1rl to hold thxs pos1t1on 1n the h1story of Dover H1gh As the month of June showed her face we were all eager to get out of school and leave a most enjoyable year beh1nd us Date September 3 1952 Our sen1or year was to be our best and last Where many of us wxll go we know not but we do know that on the road we travel we shall never forget the happy memor1es we have found at Dover H1gh Soon after we returned for our last year we elected as Presldent Tony Barn xer V1ce Presldent W1ll1am Potter Secretary Sh1rley Gaunya and Treasurer Marc1a Labonte Our act1v1t1es began 1mmed1ate1y as we started our yearbook and almost before we had t1me to th1nk we were hav1ng our class p1ctures taken Th1s year the Jun1or Prom was glven 1n our honor The gym was decorated around our motto L1ve For Freedom That Freedom May L1 1n the class colors of rose and s1lver The ma1n event of the even1ng was the Grand March led by the Sen1or Class off1cers The g1rls were stunmng 1n the1r formals and the boys looked really sharp 1n the1r dress su1ts and bow t1es Thls year had gone by very qu1ckly and before we knew lt preparat1ons were soon underway for the Semor Banquet As graduatxon approached we were d1sm1ssed from class to practlce marchmg 1n the gym Graduat1on came at last For some lt was a step to. future school1ng wh1le others were takmg the1r places ln the bus1ness world and ln Uncle Sam s Armed Forces But wherever we go we w1ll always remember what happened 1n the four most enjoyable years spent at Dover H1gh School We w1ll cher1sh the close fr1ends we made and the th1ngs we d1d to make those four years the most memorable ex per1ence that comes to one only once 1n a l1fe t1me We now close th1s class h1story w1th the hope of 1mpress1ng upon the under classmen the necessxty of mal-ung the most of the four best years of the1r hves 45 7 . , . . . , . 1 , , - - . - , - .
