LEST YE FORGET -1924 ' Dover High School 'D'-i-1 -0.4 'N'-0-U S SOCIETY One evening after basketball practice, the Seniors decided to have a Weiner roast and invite the facullty and all melmliers of the baskeball team. Some wallced, while others being more dignified went in cars.- We all preceded down to Mr. Towne's pas- ture, the scene of so many happy events. Wood was collected and fire built right away as it was quite chilly. Every one was hungry so we decided to eat, but low and behold no Weiners could be found. We decided they had been left in the office and so Mr. Ciodfelter, Leslie, Ted, Gladiys, Christine and Edefweiss va'unteered to go af- ter them. They were gone so long and the rest of us were so hungry that we ale all the sandwiches and pickles while waiting. At last they returned and of course said the Weiners could not be found. But in a few minutes we noticed a tire up over the hllll and upon a cmloser examinatfion we found the boys up there roasting them quite contentedly. After a great scufffe we got a few and after eating them, went home, each declaring they had a very enjoyable evening. ...ii- The Seniors always a very lively bunch decided to go on a Weiner roast. They me-t at the Drug Store and went on a hyay rack. A few however came along in a car. This did not suit the bunch so while they were driving slowly along in front of the team a very brlglit Senior boy hopped off and drained the gas tank. They preceded along and tiral.y decided to wait for the bunch.. When the car stopped the gas was d scovered running out of the tank so was turndd off. Enough remained tow get to town on, to get more however. A very pleaiant eavening was enjoyed but everyone agrees it is much better for all to go in one crowd. At the 'Beginning of school the Freshmen entertained the Sophomores by havingi a party. The party was held at the school house which was decorated with coilors off' both elasses. The evening was spent by playing games etc., after which was served a lunch. conlistiqng of hot chozolate, .sandwkhes and waffers. We were edtimg guy' refreshments when the lights went out and we were surprised by some of the students of the other class trying to initiate us, after the excitement was over, we finishedi our refreshments and went home taking the surprise as a joke. .lanuary 10th, being the bfrthlday of Miss Christine Sherwood, a very popular young lady in the Senior C'ass, it was decided to have a surprise on her. W'e gather- ed at the home of Miss Ester Fash and all went in a group to Christine's home. Chris- time as you all know' is a very studious girl and we found her preparing her Alfgebra lesson for the next day. She was very much surprised but being a very capable hos- tess invited -us in and made everyone feel at heme. During the evening each was called upon to give a talk, reading or do something towarld the entertainment, Mr.. Madden took charge and every one had responded presented Miss Sherwood with a token from the Senior Class ,and Faculty. Partners were secured for lunch, which was featured by a 'arge birthday cake with candles on it which Christine lit and then blew out. We left at a late hour, with all wishing Christine many more happy birth- dlyr. ru-1:-11-1--1gf-14-14-1--14-10:01 34 1-4-11,11-1 -1- 11-14-101010201011-14-901--3.
