Senior 611155 flzsfory CHAPTER I September 1952 was a memorable trme for most of the present senror class for thrs was the trme we entered Dover Hrgh as Freshmen After we settled down rn the three rooms whrch all 83 of us frlled to capacrty we had our frrst class meetrng We had a brg task before us electrng class offrcers selectrng a class advrsor and choosrng class colors and flower We elected Leon Lankford Presrdent Marvel Ersenhart Vrce Presrdent Carolyn Latshaw Secretary Rrchard Crone Treasurer and Rohm Draw baugh Hrstorran We selected Mr Charles Drawbaugh as class advrsor for the four years We chose orchrd and yellow as our class colors and orehrd as our class flower We had a skatrng party at Playland and we also sponsored a Chrrstmas Party for the entrre school Wfe helped to plan the Freshman Sophomore Hop and so the frrst year of Dover Hrgh cam to a close But not before the senrors rnrtrated us Fortunately we were the last class to be rnrtrated CHAPTER II Another year of school lay before us What would we do? We drdnt know then We were too busy berng srlly as the sayrng goes srlly sophomores Thrs trme we totaled 69 but we garned a few more classmates We soon held our frrst class mectrng of the year Leon Lankford remarned Presrdent Although Patrrcra Carey was elected class Vrce Presrdent the remarnrng offrcers drd not change XVe were not too ambrtrous thrs year although we drd have a Halloween party for the school XVe had a refreshment stand at the Dover Halloween Parade too We also helped plan the Hop As we left Dover Hrgh we began to realrze that next year we would be upper classmen Somethrng to thrnk about' CHAPTER III junror days were here and how glad we were Upper classmen at last' Agarn we lost some durrng the summer and we only totaled 69 Dover was really crow ded thrs year Among the new puprls Lorrarne Brllet Patrrcra Frey Lors Ruppert and Donna Robertson jorned our class Wfe frnally selected a class motto whrch rs Its what we do and say that makes us what we are Our offrcers stayed the same Our treasury w as rn a pretty bad shape so we really started to work We agarn had a refreshment stand at the Dover Halloween Parade We had a skatrng party at Playland rn February We also sold rarnbow colored ball pornt pens As Junrors we were grven the prrvrlege of presentrng the play We chose We Shook the Famrly Tree a cute comedy Mr Glenn B Summersgrll drrected and coached us So we wrsh to thank hrm for hrs helprng hand In addrtron to these actrvrtres we produced the annual yearbook The Memoscope We worked hard and struggled long tryrng to produce new rdeas Our efforts were not rn varn and we were really proud of the yearbook we had planned But we drdnt do thrs entrrely by ourselves Mr Lester Gross advrsor for the yearbook gave us plenty of useful advrce We certarnly could use all hrs know how The year drew to an end and together wrth the senrors we planned the Prom Now at last we began to reahze what was ahead of us CHAPTER IV As we entered Dover Hrgb for our last year of school I belreve most of us expected to feel drfferent and be drfferent How surprrsed we were' We were strll the same A lrttle more grown up wrth more drgnrty and assurance perhaps but strll the same Thrs year we totaled 55 In our frrst class meetrng we elected a new class Presrdent Samuel Herman Patrrcra Carey became Vrce Presrdent Carolyn Latshaw was Secretary Rrchard Crone was Treasurer and Robrn Draw baugh was Hrstorran We came to the conclusron that we needed much more money than we had rf we wanted to go to New York So we rarsed the dues and set up an ewtensrve actrvrty program We were as busy as bees as we sponsored three skatrng partres at Playland One rn October December and january We had a car wash rn October whrch was very successful as everyone lent a helprng hand We also had a refreshment stand at the Dover Halloween Parade In December we presented the annual senror play It was entrtled The Inner Wrlly and was drrected by Mr Glenn Summersgrll We all want to thank hrm for hrs frne supervrsron and drrectron whrch made rt a huge success Meanwhrle we sold Prestrge Laboratorres products We planned a ham supper and also a bake sale Everyone was kept busy srgnrng graduatron prctures but not too busy to plan for the gala Junror Senror Prom Now our freshman days are over sophomore yunror senror' days too Sadly we reahze we are on the threshold of a new lrfe One full of twrce as many responsrbrlrtres, decrsrons and work Lookrng back over all those years we can easrly see how much we have grown up and how hrgh school has prepared us for the world 0 0 V V , , .
