Character, Service, Leadership, and Scholarship are the four main objectives of the organization. Eighty-two members were elected to membership in the second semester of 1955. A student must maintain at least an average of B- and carry not less than 4V2 credits to be eligible for the Honor Roll. To further motivate Scholarship, those students whose averages are A or A- are elected to what is known as the Principal's List. Fifteen such students are on the 1955 Principal's List. The major project of this year has been the production of the 1955 Trojan. The Council was host to the Oklahoma Association of Student Councils in December, at which time Wayne Cogburn was elected state president. In March the Council entertained the County Teen Age Safety Council. Wayne Cog- burn was elected vice-chairman and Marilyn Arnold, historian. Other projects of the year were the Christmas Candlelight Service, Semester Capers, sale of Valentine telegrams, sponsorship of the Langston A Cappella Singers in concert, and the annual faculty dinner.
