Eh the year of 1958, early in September, there set sail over the Sea of Knowledge, a magnifi cent fleet proudly bearing aloft floating ban ners of red and white This fleet was headed for a distant lance called The Land of Gradu voyave of four years There were four isles freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior isle or The Promised Land Q1 bo rd the vessels, wh conpo ed the fleet, there were forty voyagers called fre hnen, eacn one firmly resolved to suc coed or go down with the ship, The first port re ehed was the freshman isle. Here fifteen voyagers were not sufficiently equipped to continue the journey and had to be left behind with the hope of rejoining the fleet at sophonore isle a year later Here, the voy agers met with a strange kind of people called sophomores, juniors, and seniors, who had wander ed away fran their homes, The upper classes entertained with Q cet Aequain tea Social in the gymnasium This was a swell affair, Q1 Octo ber 4th, we organized and the following officers were elected Melvin Robards, President, Otha Ree Ellis, Secretary, and Grace Reeder, Treasurer. Q J K 'N After an enjoyable year, the class took their departure for the next port, the sopho more, which is known as the Isle of wise F0OlS.Wf As we neared this isle, we felt our heads beginning to swell, and thought our selves Wise indeed, Upon landing, we found that We were no longer freshmen, but sopho mores, Everything was quite different frm freeman tele. fart et our feed was changed ai We their had eefmdniol in the plaee of eivo ics 'besides many otlrr arkligementa QI' wr or basketball with the rr-.amen ana defeated them by e 1ar-ge score. line linnie Lavette ran for Queen od' the Interstate Tournament which is held at our lehool every year, She ran second in the race against Misa Adelle Gregofy We sailed as and at last the junior llle was reached, and all Glu' Voyager! landed. and spent a very pleasant year, hiring this year, I ran for Queen and mn second in the race against Miss Otha Ree Ellis. Here another series of basketball games were played in which the jim iors came out undefeated. As usual, we gave the annual Junior-Senior prom, 'I'he last and most important isle of all was 'Senior Isle' or the Land of the Owls which all have reached safely.
