Forty-six players suited up in anticipation for the 1984 grid campaign determined to make it successful. District play put Douglass on the road to Cottonwood Falls to face 1 ranked Chase Co. To the fans, players, and coaches it was a very crucial game. Chase Co. scored first on a 40 yd. field goal. Douglass countered in the 2nd quarter on a 40 yd. run by Shawn Moore. Albert Simon converted the extra point and placed the Bulldogs ahead 7-3. Several plays later Chase Co. scored, regained the lead and won the contest 17-14. We should all be proud of our football team. They did very well and always kept a good attitude.
