This year for the freshmen introduction, we tried to find a different way to brink the froshies into the limelight of their section of the yearbook. So, instead of just printing a picture of the class officers and a few candids, we went out and interviewed them to get an idea of their feelings and impressions of their first year at DHS. Here are some of the responses that we got: Q. HOW DID YOU FEEL ABOUT ENTERING HIGH SCHOOL? A. “Fired-upl”, “not scared”, scared”, “anxious”, “glad to be out of Junior High”, ready for it , it got better after we were here for a while”. Q. WHAT IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS ABOUT BEING A FRESHMAN? A. “More musical activities than in junior high”, being able to mess something up and not having to worry about it, people just say, ‘oh well, they’re just freshmen’”. COMMENTS: “You get tired of people picking on you just because you’re a freshman”, “high school wasn’t what we expected”, it is a different feeling being here”, “being a freshman gives us an excuse for doing stuff”, you can get away with more in high school than you can in junior high”. This year the freshman class has really become involved in school and school activities. Big things can be expected of them, and you can expect to find them EVERYWHERE, especially when it comes to extra curricular functions. Good Luck, freshmen, enjoy high school! [ j CLASS OF ’88 Mitchell Clay, Secretary; Carrie Wilks, Treasurer; Penny White. Stuco Representative; Carol Harris, Vice-president; Mike Powell, President
