Y The l983-84 school year at Douglas MacArthur brought much fun and enjoyment for students in- volved with a foreign language. The highlight of the year was the Na- tional Foreign Language Week, which took place March 5 through March 9. Each day of this week was filled with special activities such as labelling the school in four languages, tag day, performers, skits, and movies, mini-units , and dress-up day. The week climaxed with food day, decidedly the most popular day of the week. International food delights such as tacos, crepes, kuchle, and pizza were sold by the language classes throughout the day. A special feature of this day was created by the Latins. Mr. Meyer's Latin room was exclusively decorated as an Italian restaurant, complete with Italian music and waiters to give the atmosphere of old Italy. Each of the four individual lan- guage clubs participated in other activities organized by their offi- cers. All of the languages partici- pated in the annual International Dinner and the inter-clubal softball game. Overall, a good time was enjoyed by all involved with the foreign language department at Douglas MacAthur.
