Their season record was 8-1 as they were the winners of the Birch Run Relays. They also placed 2nd in the White Pine Conference and captured a 3rd in Regionals. Led by captains Karen Frick and Heidi Wagner and co-captain Mary Lou Wade, several members of the team qualified for State. The 880 Relay team of Heidi Wagner, Kim Brewer, Amy McQuillan, and Briege Mulhurn made it to State. Other state qualifiers were Amy McQuillan for the 100 anad 300 hurdles and Sharon Kinsler for the 1 and 2 mile. McQuillan was able to capture a 3rd in State in the 100 hurdles. Special awards included Amy McQuillan receiving Most Valuable Player, and the Top 5 Club awards going to Heidi Wagner, Sharon Kinsler, Anita- Kremin, Ienny Boswell. and Amy McQuillan. Rookie Coach lack Kendall, a former SVSC track standout, stated that he hoped this year was just a rebuilding season. Standouts on last year's team were DOC Martino in the long distance: Iohn Long, hurdlesg Iohn Fry discuss and shot putg Rob Cullings, pole vault, and Paul Martuch, sprinter. Coach Randall looks confidently on to next year's team because returning are Paul Martuch, Iohn Long, Mark VanBoxclaer, and Mike Andreotti.
