The race for positions in MacArthur's student government involved the entire student body . . .Interest was aroused by campaign slogans, posters, speeches, and campus controversy . . . Election gimmicks included a goat and a boy dressed as a girl...Interest in and competition for offices was the highest in several years and provide an optimistic outlook for student government in 1969-70. ne of the high points of the elections was a vising goat, who was Deneice O'Connor's campaign manager.
