Brahmas Suffer Three Close Early Don Cardenas winds up on the bottom of the pile against Edison. The Brahmas played strong first halves i.n the season openers against Houston Sam Houston and Houston Robert E. Lee.. .But weakened in the second half to lose both games by a total of five points . . .The next night the Brahmas defeated Edison for the fourth straight year . . . Mac Arthur was cold from the floor and tired from the trip at the Abilene Tournament . . . But came on strong to defeat Lubbock in the consolation round after losing to Plainview by 10 and Eastern Hills by 2. MacArthur did exactly that in defeating Seguin as Steve Beck led the way with sixteen points . . . In the Northeast Invitational, the Brahmas started very strong. . .Be- hind Glen Perkin's eighteen points the Brahmas trampled Holmes . . .But in mid-December, MacArthur suddenly fell apart . . .Westchester knocked them out of the tournament . . .and Central Catho- lic, Houston Sam Houston and Houston Jesse Jones all beat the Brahmas.
