MacArthur was 4-O . . .And people were beginning to talk about being 10-0 and going to state . . .But an aroused bunch of Churchill Chargers, spurred by two long runs brought the Brahmas back to earth with a shocking 13-7 upset . . .Churchill fullback Charles Herber got what proved to be the winning touchdown on a 58-yard run with 1:54 left to play . . .MacAr- thur struck back after the kickoff as John Garner raced 76 yards on a wingback reverse . . . Lloyd Wakefield's fumble recovery at midfield with a minute left gave the Brahmas one last chance . . .But three plays later Churchill got their third interception of the game and ran out the clock . . .And people stopped talking about being 10-0.

Cougars Maul Brahmas This was the defense's only poor showing of the season. Gary MacCaffery catches up to the Cougar ball carrier. Webster's dictionary defines to overwhelm as to pour down on and bury beneath . . . An overpowering, seventh-ranked Abilene Cooper team overwhelmed the already injury- plagued Brahmas 49-0 . . . The Brahmas, with eight starters out because of injuries, lost two more just after the game began as Tommy Snider and Ken Corder were hurt . . .But nothing could halt the Cougars as they drove time after time for scores.
