Mr. H. R. Higgins spoke on current trends in literature. Mr. Andrew Jefferson, assistant United States attorney, presented a talk and discussion dealing with the program of civil rights. In addition the Society went on a field trip to hear the Edison High School choir present Handel's Messiah, The Society also helped install officers of Randolph's N.H.S. Carter Quill and Scroll, the International Society for High School Journalists, was founded as an organization to represent achievement and to reward worthy efforts in the field of journalism. Quill and Scroll membership is an honor that stands for the highest type of high school journalistic achievement. The MacArthur Chapter of Ouill and Scroll sponsored a pledge breakfast in February for the new members.
