Members are chosen on the basis of previous experience and interest in serving their community and school. Some of their activities this year have been at get together dance after the first ball game, chartering a bus lo the Corpus game, running and managing the school store, a leadership banquet for all school leaders, and numerous other projects lor the school. The club encourages members to serve the school and community by helping in the Beta Book Store and serving on the Tutoring Committee. A Book Fan is held to benefit the MacArthur Library. Beta membels also volunteer to work for local libraries and hospitals Stu dents of high ability are invited to join the club during the spring of each year. Beta Club members demonstrate how they help students with their studies at a typical tutoring session.

Alexander Bidwell Caswell Ellison Baldwin Billington Denney Estes Bassett Bradley Disbennet Farnum ation The 1963-64 National Honor Society has brought to the Mac- Arthur campus a series of cultural programs. Mr. H. R. Higgins spoke on current trends in literature. Mr. Andrew Jefferson, assistant United States attorney, presented a talk and discussion dealing with the program of civil rights. In addition the Society went on a field trip to hear the Edison High School choir present Handel's Messiah, The Society also helped install officers of Randolph's N.H.S.
