The club encourages members to serve the school and community by helping in the Beta Book Store and serving on the Tutoring Committee. A Book Fan is held to benefit the MacArthur Library. Beta membels also volunteer to work for local libraries and hospitals Stu dents of high ability are invited to join the club during the spring of each year. Beta Club members demonstrate how they help students with their studies at a typical tutoring session.

E - Av, Mrs. Flood directs the Choir as they prepare to present the Christ- mas program. -,sl-.1-V Mrs. Virginia Flood The Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Virginia Flood, has again won city wide acclaim. During the Christmas Holidays, they were asked to participate in a program for WOAI Radio recorded at the First National Bank. They were also among the select group which sang for Channel 5. Touring the valley, Buccaneer Days, and Interscholastic League were some of the many activities that kept choir members busy. .'-up .W

Members are chosen on the basis of previous experience and interest in serving their community and school. Some of their activities this year have been at get together dance after the first ball game, chartering a bus lo the Corpus game, running and managing the school store, a leadership banquet for all school leaders, and numerous other projects lor the school.
