Without doubt the outstanding characteristic of the majority of our Student Body is pride-pride concerning DHS and pride as an individual. Everyone cannot be a National Merit Finalist or be on the winning football team but everyone can do his part as an active member of our school society. If you have honestly tried to enrich your life with the knowledge and experiences offered to you at DHS, then you should have pride in yourself. This year's Student Council has been an eager orga- nization full of ideas and ready to suggest new concepts and to change what they felt are some out-moded tradi- tions. As DHS grows larger we will become too large to continue with many of our traditional customs and events. Therefore, it then becomes the duty of the Council to modify old traditions and to establish new traditions which can survive our projected growth to 1800 students. We have confidence that future repre- sentatives of the student body can and will meet prob- lems as effectively as this year's leaders have. NIr. Norman Littrell Principal 28 ADMINISTRATION It is my sincere hope that this has been a banner year in the life of each of you at Douglas High School. I also hope that your total educational needs have been fulfilled and that you are now better prepared and anxious to function as a productive citizen in the vast, complex and challenging world of the present. Although often overlooked, your high school life must be considered a most valuable part of your total personal development. Look back upon the 1968-69 school year with satisfaction in what you have learned and achieved and look forward to the future with curi- osity in the anticipation of that which still awaits you. May our motto always be: '4It,s great to be a Bull- dogln Mr. John Whatcott Assistant Principal 'NM-sa. 2 's S
