Last year the Doss Dragons Soccer team earned the right to enter the regional tournament, and this year the l985-86 Soccer team earned the same privilege. They had a fantastic season and finished with a I4f3 winflose record. The Dragons played a grueling game against the DeSales Colts determin- ing which team went on to play in the state tournament. In the first half of the game the Colts dominated by scoring two goals. Todd Hatfield scored a goal for Doss early in the second half, but the Dragons couldn't seem to keep up with the Colts. They lost 2fI. There were several outstanding players on the team this year who added a lot to the team, they were: Todd Hash, John Conard, Ricky Fowler, Todd Hatfield, Shanda Blair, Ronnie Vincent, and Keith Denton. The I985 Boys and Girls Cross Country teams have done the best to their ability as runners this year. For the boys team, Allan Stevens ran his personal best time of l6:53 for the 5k race. Also, sophomore Rip Hat- field ran his personal best time of I9.54 for the 5k race. For the girls team. sophomore Angel Vardeman ran her personal best time of D124 for the 3k racer junior Jamie Janssen ran her personal best time of l2:39, and junior Susan Whitman ran her personal best time of I3:l3. Junior Jennifer Leitner set a school record of an IL46 time for the 3k race. When the Cross Country team went to the regional cham pionship, Jennifer Leitner came in first for the entire region. and the team came in 4th over all. Jennifer came in I6th out of II3 girls with a time of lI:57. Allan came to 53rd with a time of I7:38. Doss is very proud of these fine runners.
