Lynette Farmer. To become a member of the Pepsi Singers involves intense competition. About half of those who try out actually become members of the group. The stu' dents must first be involved in some area of the music program such as choir, mixed chorus, mu- sic theory or band to be able to audition for the Pepsi Singers. Kim Hill who is one of the few singers that has been with the group for four years, was also asked to comment about her feelings as a Pepsi singer. Being involved with the group has taught me much about dealing with others. The experience has been very beneficial to me. Learning how to accept both positive andenegative criticism has helped me to become a bet- ter well rounded person. Miss Hill not only sings in school but also has an active singing career outside of school. The Doss High Pepsi Generation Singers is a group of 36 choral students, from 9th to the l2th grade. They meet twice a week after school for practice. l985 Calendar Couple Pageant Beauty and Charm Pressed Between the Pages Calendar Couple Pageant '85 was held Thursday evening, November 8th in the large gym and was spon- sored by the Class of '85. Craig Smith served as Master of Ceremonies. Two representatives each from Ist period classes, organ- izations, and athletic teams were elected to compete. The original IO8 contestants were narrowed to 24 finalists on the basis of walking, turning, poise, and appearance. A cov- er couple completed the lovely year. Vocal entertainment by Laura Jacks, Kim Hill, Bill Breck- inridge, Sheila Glenn, and Doug Sheakley to the accompaniment of Mark Temple completed the eveing.
