Mrs. Bett Young Ss.. Mrs. Young helps Mike Whiteside and Brian Crum in a biology experiment. Finally no more dissecting of wormsl Occasionally, a teacher will come along whose memory remains with hisfher students even after the course is over. Mrs. Betty Young has been one of these teachers at Doss. This year, after 30 years of teaching. Mrs. Young has decided to move into full retirement and is looking forward to new, ex- citing ventures. When she was asked about her future plans. she said that she would like to travel, to enjoy my leisure time. and to buy a boat big enough to live on and then cruise. When asked about, her favorite memories and people from her years of teaching, Mrs. Young responded with the following: Each student l've taught has left a special memory. I especially enjoyed sponsoring the Beta Club fwhich I did for IO yearsj and being a class sponsor Cl! yearsj. The class of '77 is an im- portant part of my memories, as is Miss Jucoff who has been next door for I8 years. The early years at Doss were excitingt I helped design the ring, choose the school col- ors, pick the fight song, and form the 'tradi- tion'. The students and staff members at Doss would like to wish Mrs. Young a very happy and exciting retirement. l98-Retirement Recognition as- Wink -4
