Doss Soccer Team Shatters Dld School Record as They Reach the The I984 85 Doss Soccer team was a tremendous success The team butchered its way through most of wlnfloss record II earned the right to enter the Jefferson County West Regional Tournament games In their first game of the Regional Tournament the Doss team romped past Iroquois for a final score of 7 to I In their second game of this rough ally destroyed Southwest Christian to give a final score of 8 to I in Doss favor In the third and fmal game of the West Regional Tournament Doss played one of its toughest matches against DeSales At the end of the was at 2 all At the end of two overtimes DeSaIes was the victor at 3 to 2 ending Doss fantastic season and claiming the title the regular season play. I 74-Soccer Team A special commendation should go to David Payne for his outstanding contribution to the Doss Soccer team. As a graduate from i983-I984, he came back voluntarily to give his ex- pert leadership to the Doss team as the assistant coachg coaching under head coach and athletic director. Dan Shepard. Next year's team should go all th way with the return of I4 of the I members that were on the team thi year. These talented players shal gain even more experience as the years go by.

CROSS COU TRY The I984 Cross Country team once again exhibited the qualities essential to the successful runner. Discipline. dedication, and endurance combined to make the season one of personal growth for each runner as team members pushed themselves to greater and greater accomplishments. Although the points and vict ' didn't add n ONES IO BS personal growth, satisfaction, devel- opment of team spirit, and comma- radarie made the year indeed a memorable experience. Brad Sharber, Greg Mattingly, Paul Sanders, and Kevin McDowell led the team in making the year a successful one. Despite this being her first year on the team, Angel Vardeman, a freshman, became a successful run- ner.
