The 1982 Christmas Pro ram JA' The 1982 Christmas program was a great success as measured both by contributions and the program itsellf The student body showed it was in the spirit of giving as over 51300 was collected to buy perishable items to complete the food baskets which most Hrst period classes donated. Thirteen needy families in the area received the baskets. The Program began with the traditional silent march to the gymnasium. Outside the gym were the choir and the Pepsi Singers joined by Miss Hazel Miller. Their Christmas carols helped set the proper mood for the program. As the Seniors were seated in the center ofthe floor area, Student Council President, Toni Jaggers introduced our guests. Superintendent Dr. Donald lngwerson brought Christmas greetings and introduced his wife, Mrs. Lona Ingwerson, who ga ve a dramatic recitation of THE BALLAD OF THE HARP WEA VER by Edna St. Vincent Millay. Her presentation was enjoyable and thought provoking. Chairman Jim Hem spoke briefly on sentiments of the season. The Pepsi Singers gave their usual outstanding performance singing various Christmas songs. The Band was 41 next directed by Mr. Temple, playing beautiful Christmas carols. Mr. Whitaker announced the 1982 Who's Who as they went through their traditional lighting of candles ceremony. Mr. Whitaker added his own special song A VA MARIA sung for the student body to show his warmth and caring for them. Seniors lit their candles and displayed the Christmas spirit as everyone was dismissed.
