E. Henderson, K. Henderson, Hodge, H uddleston, H uffaker, Jacobs, Joyner Teaching in the Business Department is MRS. ELLA HENDERSON. She has a total of fourteen years teaching experience. The mother of three. Ella enjoys bowling and softball in her spare time. She is a graduate of Arkansas A.M.4QN. KAREN C. HENDERSON, who teaches Math and Computer Programming, has 24 years teaching experience, the last two at Doss. Karen received both her Bachelors and Masters degrees at Georgetown College. MRS. MARIAN 71 HODGE has been teaching English at Doss for three years of her nineteen year career. She and her husband. Reverend W. J. Hodge fPresident of Simmons Bible Collegej, are very active in their church. Their travels have taken them to such places as Europe, Sweden, and Japan. They plan a 1984 trip to Zimbabwa, Africa. MRS, JENNIFER HUDDLESTON is in her sixth year of working as an aide in Exceptional Education. This is her second year at Doss, with her previous years at Auburndale Elementary. Jennifer's private life is surrounded with males as she has been married thirty years and has tive sons and four grandsons. The Business Department includes teacher LINDA HUFFAKER. Linda is a graduate of Louisville Manual High School and the University of Kentucky. Besides teaching. she enjoys a variety of sports. MR. CURTIS JACOBS is one ofthe day Custodians. Curtis has been an employee ofthe Jefferson County School system for eight years, all at Doss. He is single and attends college in addition to his job. In-school security at Doss is provided by MRS. ESTER P. JOYNER. Married and the mother of a twenty- year old son who is in college, Ester has been with the system seven years and this is her first year at Doss. Very active in Doss activities is MISS JUCOFF Besides teaching, Janet chairs the Science Department, sponsors the Bela Club, and is a Senior Sponsor. She has sixteen years experience at Doss and eighteen years in the system. MAR Y VIVIAN JUDD is completing eleven years as Bookkeeper at Doss. Married twenty-seven years, she has one daughter, one son, and one grandson. A loyal Doss supporter, she is seen at many Doss functions. Teaching Health and Physical Education is MRS, SHEILA K UHLMAN. A graduate of Lexington Catholic High, she earned her post-graduate work at the University of Louisville, Mrs. Kuhlman was the Kentucky Teacher of the Year in last year. The Doss Art teacher is ED LA WSON. Having earned his bachelors at Murray, he went on to Western Kentucky to receive his masters. Ed's artwork is very much in evidence around Doss and he assisted in this year's M YTH cover design. KA THIE LEONARD sponsors the Doss Excel Program. She teaches English. Estes, M. Estes, REVELLA SAMMYE DAY is the Secretary to our Principal. Sammye has been at Doss all eight of her years with the school system. Married and the mother of three daughters, two of her daughters are Doss graduates and her youngest is a Doss junior this year. DONALD W. DEETCH teaches Drafting l and ll along with Metal Shop land Il. He has been teaching nine years, this being his lirst at Doss. His Bachelors degree is from Western Kentucky where is presently working on a Masters degree in Guidance. Teaching English and Humanities is MARIAN JANE DEMIC who has been at Doss twelve of her seventeen years in our school system. A graduate of the University of Texas, she now holds a Rank One certilication from U of L. Marian has been married to Joe Warren Demic for forty years and they have four sons. Serving as one of the Doss Custodians is BRENDA PETERS. The mother of two daughters, she enjoys bowling in her leisure time. Teaching English is MRS. GERALDINE ESTELLE. She has seventeen years experience in Jefferson County, eight of those here at Doss. Married twenty-seven years, Geraldine traveled extensively with her husband in the Service. She looks forward to a time when students come to school with the primary purpose of learning and enjoys working with her students. Lunchroom Assistant Mrs. Imogene Estes has been with the Jefferson County Schools and at Doss for fifteen years. She is married and has two daughters. MRS. MAYDEL ESTES is a Lunchroom Assistant and Cashier who has sixteen years experience with the schools and thirteen years here at Doss. Maydel's two children, Roger and Sherry. are both Doss graduates, She has been married 27 years. MRS. HELEN FAULKNER is one ofthe Doss Custodians. She has eight years experience, all at Doss. Helen is married and has two married daughters and two grandsons. JOSEPH G. FRESHLEY teaches the Youth Development Class. Joe has eight years experience and is in his second year at Doss. A graduate of Western Kentucky, he is married and the proud father ofa ten month old daughter, Sarah Elizabeth. Joe is Assistant Basketball Coach for the VarsityfBoys. With a bachelors from Spalding College and a Rank I certification from U of L, MRS. SHIRLEY A. HAGAN has four years at Doss and fourteen in the system. She has been married nineteen years and has a son and daughter. Shirley teaches Exceptional Education classes. ANITA HARTWEIN is the Doss High Library Clerk. She is married and has three children and two granddaughters. Anita has Hfteen years experience, all at Doss. She has worked at Doss since it opened. Teaching English and Chairman ofthat department is JEAN HA TFIELD. Jean has Hfteen years teaching experience, all at Doss. She enjoys Shakespeare, bass Hshing, and conversation with positive thinking people. She also reads many fascinating research papers. 97

A native of Great Britain, Anne enjoys travel, theatre, cooking, and music. Her philosophy regarding the teaching of English is - - The better one can use language the more success you will realize in life. Married and the mother of two sons who are Doss graduates lMichael '75 and Jeff '772 is MRS. BARBRA MABRY. Barbra is a Lunchroom Assistant with sixteen years experience, all at Doss. She has one grandchild. MR. THOMAS MANNING is the Doss High Area Specialist. ln his capacity, Mr. Manning is responsible for the heating and cooling systems and other mechanical aspects of our building. Married and the father of six, Mr. Manning has been at Doss ten years of his twenty-Hvc with the system MRS. FLOELLA MARTIN Hlls one of the positions of Day Custodian. She has thirteen years of system experience, all here at Doss. Married and the mother of live, her youngest son is a student at Conway Middle. She enjoys reading biographies in her spare time. DORIS McDOWELL is completing thirteen years as Business Education teacher at Doss, She is a graduate of Valley High, Eastern K y, and the U of L. Doris and husband Michael have two children. Teaching in the Exceptional Education department is HELEN MCGUIRE. She graduated from Shelby County High and went on to earn her bachelors from Middle Tennessee State University, Helen holds a masters from U ol' K. Teaching German and Senior English is WANDA MILLER. She sponsors both the German Club and N.H.S. Wanda earned both her bachelors and masters from Eastern Ky. She enjoys sewing and spending time with her son. SHEILA MOBLEY teaches Junior English and Psychology. She is a graduate of both Western Kentucky and Appalachian State University, Sheila is a former yearbook sponsor. WILLIAM MOORMAN teaches Chemistry, He earned his BS from Kentucky Southern College and his Masters from U of L. The sponsor of the Science Club, Bill enjoys skiing, scuba diving, and canoeing. LEON MUDD teaches PE and coaches the Boys Varsity Basketball team. Coach Mudd is a graduate of Valley High and Western Kentucky. His I979-80 team Hnished second in the State Tournament, SCOTT NASH is a second year teacher in the Doss Exceptional Education Department. He has previous teaching experience in Michigan and in England at aU.S. Air Force Base. Scott enjoys all sports - especially bass lishing. The Lead Night Custodian is MRS. ALICE NELSON who has been at Doss for four years and with the Jefferson County Schools seven years. Mrs. Nelson has three married daughers, eleven grandchildren, and seven great- grandchildren.
