They practiced on Saturday mornings and everyday after school, rain or shine. The Dragon's season officially started on April 1, 1980. The coach for both the boys and girls teams is Mr. Ray Byerly. The teams practice at the South-west YMCA and are also helped by Richard Sims and Danny Musinski. Coach Bob Bishop had very little to work with in numbers, but the quality was certainly there. The team practices eleven months out of the year, and six times a week. The practices paid off in the Ohio Valley meet and a meet in, Topeka, Kansas. In the Kentucky Teenage Weightligting Meet, Doss had four individual championsg 114 lbs. - Kevin Bratcher, 123 lbs. - Alan Yelton, 148 lbs. - Greg Bartlett, and 165 lbs. - Mike and state meets, and Mr. Bishop is looking for a couple of his lifters to win national championships.
