About Changes m Admlmstratlon The School Board IS the governmg body of the Dormont schools The seven members, elected every slx years hold the1r meetings on the second Monday of each month under the leadershlp of the Presldent, H L Hellman The prlmary functlon of the School Board IS to 1n1t1ate the pol1c1es of the schools but lt also selects our capable faculty Dormont IS mdeed fortunate to have men of such hlgh callber w1ll mg to perform thls vxtal functlon rf' Row 3 C H Schnelder Karl Brunt H V Brownlee Sollcltor Row 2 C E Zxegenfuss Secretary Norman Popham C H Bryan Superintendent Row 1 J A Anderson V1cePres1dent H L Hell man Presldent George S Hards Treasurer Mr Charles Bryan came to the Dormont School 1n uly 1954 On january 1 1959 he left our schools to go to Beth page Schools ln Long Island New York where he filled the posltlon of the first supermtendent 1n a large growmg d1str1ct Dormont Schools although sorry to lose an efliclent superlnten dent, wlsh Mr Bryan unsurpassed success Superintendent v 'Y ETSQM from 1955 to january of 1959 At that tlme he became superlntendent of Dormont Pub l1c Schools, fillmg the vacancy created by the departure of Mr Bryan MISS Burton IS the dean of glrls and as sxstant prlnclpal of D H S In addltlon to act1ng as guldance counselor for the student body she has assumed the dutles of pr1n c1pal ln order to assure proper admmlstra t1on of school affa1rs unt1l a new prlncxpal IS appolnted jay NeH Mary A Burton Prlncxpal Supermtendent Assxstant Prmcxpal as 'X c 'BettyltaS oc ey Carrle euman RU!
