They were appointed by the Stu- dent Council to plan all social activities. Some of the activities they sponsored were films lectures, Twirp Week, and Charity Nights. Student Council Has Three Members from Each Class and a President SEATED: Gerald Ebbers, Gary Verhoef, Agnes Sigbenga, Contant, Herm Van Niejenhuis, Virgil Van Essen, Don Delmar Groen, Karen Bokhoven, Harry Fernhout, Mich Sinnema. Knierim. STANDING: Guy De Haan, Fenton Groen, Martin Elections last spring voted Delmar Groen asStudent Council president. On October 15 the convention was held with twenty-four candidates presenting their positions. The next day each class voted for their represen- tatives to Student Council. Meeting each week, the Student Council planned and supervised all student activities on Dordt campus. Harr Fern out Won Student President Elections Three juniors, Harry Fern- hout, Thane De Stigter, and jack Van Vliet ran for Student Council president. At the con- vention held Tuesday, April 29, the three candidates pre- sented their views. The next Thursday was election day, and the student body voted Harry Fernhout from Port Arthur, Ontario, as 69-70 presi- dent. Harry hopes to make next year's student council function meaningfully, accord- ing to its constitution.
