The Dordt College Music Department ar- ranged for the Luther College Nordic Choir from Decorah, Iowa, to appear on Dordt's campus. This choir presented a concert of sacred music on Thursday, january 30. It is under the direction of Mr. Westen Noble, and is nationally known for its choral presentations. Several soloists added interest and variety. After the performance the choir was honored at a reception by Dordt's Concert Choir. --,,, ml1eCrotenhuis Directed Dordt's Concert Band Many different types of music were performed by this year's Concert Band. They ranged from a Baroque number to modern numbers, from hymn arrangements to marches. Area concerts were given, including one in Pella, Iowa. Each concert was con cluded with the Festival March. Choirs and Bands rn Area High Schools Participated rn the Music Festival Friday evening was an evening of music, for it was the 1969 Music Festival. Mem- bers of high school bands joined Dordt's concert band to perform several numbers. Choirs from Dakota Christian, Unity, Southwestern, and Western Christian each sang two sacred numbers, and then joined Dordt's concert choir and chorale choir. This mass choir rendered several num- bers, concluding the evening with the anthem, Now Glad of Heart Be Everyone. - RTK ' ll 2' ui Q - 2
