This was the general feeling of Dordt's student body. And they had a reason for it, for the Varsity team won thir- teen games of the twenty that they played. Student spirit and excitement ran high at many of the basketball games. Mr. james Tim- mer coached them. Senior Ger Bovenkamp was the captain, and Gene Hospers, another Senior, was top scorer of the team. They be- gan the basketball season well by winning their first game which was against St. Paul College. Continuing in this spirit, they also 3 ended the season with a win. ln the final game, Dordt Defenders defeated Midwestern 82-7'l. I 1 I 1 Sports and Snow Were the Main Activities Activities during homecom- ing were many and varied. Several students demonstrated their artistic abilities by con- structing snow sculptures. In the afternoon a panel dis- cussion was held in which campus life and affairs were discussed. In the sports world, the action began in the after- noon with a volleyball game between the Dordt all-stars and the faculty. In the evening the junior Varsity and the Varsity squads gave to the homecoming crowd a spirited representation of Dordt's par- ticipation in basketball. pi.
