After the Dunbarians recovered a bad punt on the opponents' own 40 yard line, Bunker put the ball on the 30. In three plays the crowd saw Bob Foley eat up enough yardage to put the ball on the 3, where Dick Dauksys plunged over on a quarterback sneak to put D.H.S. out in front 6-0. The third period saw English score on a lucky break and to lead 7-6. That was to be about all for English, for again Foley took the ball and on 3 plays scored from 30 yards out. An insurance TD was made by Dick Dauksys, who from 10 yards out swept his right end and barreled over for his second tally of the game. McGhee made the conversion and the final score was D.H.S. 18, Eng- list 7. Keymen on defense were Co-Capt. Gotauco, McClintock, and Costello. A capacity crowd saw D.H.S. blank undermanned Roxbury Memorial 27-0. In the first half of the game there was no score because of the stubborn ground re- sistance ofthe underdog Memorial. The third quarter saw better play as Bunker threw to Costello, who made a circus catch in the end zone. D.H.S., two plays after receiving a punt from their rival, sent Bob Foley on his way. Bob, from 20 yards out, shook loose from the second- ary and eluded the Memorial pursuer. In the fourth period, after battering the weary Memorial line, Fuller scored from one yard out. The final touchdown of the season was made as Dick Dauksys on an option play kept the ball and lunged over from 6 yards out. The 1957 Season showed D.H.S. util- ized its speedy backfield and powerful line in the capturing of the City Cham- pionship. Dick Dauksys Dauksys-the hard way! In the seventh game of the series Dorchester came from behind in the last four minutes in a thriller to score a 19-14 win over B.C. High at White Stadium. D.H.S. led at halftime 7-0 on Dick Dauksys' touch- down in the second period. The third period saw Bunker completing a 43 yard bullet-like pass to Foley, who sprinted into the end zone un- divided. To the dislike of D.H.S., B.C. High scored 2 touchdowns in this'period to put them ahead 14-13. But the spirit and drive of our team did not falter, with four minutes left in the last period, Bunker jetted 35 yards over left tackle to score the final touchdown and put the game on ice for Dorchester. In the next game the Red and Black did it again. A highly favored Latin team was upset by a small but powerful antagonist. Statiscally and by way of score D.H.S. utterly demolished the high-spirited Latins. D.H.S. shed blood early in the middle of the second period but retaliated with a 23 yard pass play from Bunker to Chico Gotauco, putting the ball on the 3. Dauksys bulled over to tie the score. McGhee's golden toe made the placement and put D.H.S. ahead. In the second half D.H.S. fought harder and more valiantly to keep its 7-6 lead. Larry McGinnis, Barney Foleyf' Jack Mad- en, and Paul Rennie played a commendable part on the defense, their effort and stamina was a key factor in the outcome of this game. A 34 yard-Dauksys-to- Chico -pass clicked to put the ball on the Latin 16. Charlie Bunker took the ball from there, and on the second play he sprinted unaided for the second TD again. McGhee was called to the scene to boost the score 14-6. 75 Bunker-Almost alone!
