Trubutes MR ARLON O BACON Mr Arlon O Bacon graduated un 1913 from the Fitchburg Teachers College He furst taught un Everett, later un Newton then un Provudence On Aprul 1 1924 he was appounted to Pre co educatuonal Dorchester Hugh un Codman Square as a cooperatuve unstructor un undustrual branches Seven years later when the boys were moved to the new Dorchester Hugh for Boys Mr Bacon also made the transfer He was guven the very umportant posutuon of Coordunator of the Cooperatuve lndustrual Course untul hus returement un June 1956 MR MALCOLM D CAMPBELL When the doors of our school opened for the furst tume un September 1925 Mr Malcolm D Campbell establushed humself un Room 314 as the Buology teacher Untul hus returement un June 1956 he was one of the best unformed and ablest teachers un Boston He became Presudent of the Natuonal Assocuatuon of Buology Teachers and of the New Eng land Assocuatuon and held munor posts un other Buology organuzatuons MISS MARGUERITE CON DON Muss Marguerute Condon a member of the Englush Department retured on December 31 1956 Most of her teach ung years were spent at the Dorchester Hugh School for Gurls She luves un Brooklune wuth a suster but she goes to Cape Cod for her vacatuons Many Dorchester teachers have enuoyed her hosputaluty at her pleasant home un Centre vulle near Craugvulle Beach where she enuoys her favorute hobby gardenung MISS ALICE W DINEGAN Muss Aluce W Dunegan recently retured from Dorchester Hugh School where she was a devoted teacher un the Commercual Department She was a graduate of Kemper Hall and Vassar College and receuved her busuness traunung at Summons College Besudes her varued teachung experuence Muss Dunegan worked for many years un the real estate busuness and had extensuve secretarual experuence MR JOSEPHT EVANS Mr Joseph T Evans who retured un November 1956 was for many years a Commercual teacher un Dorchester Hugh School Mr Evans was a graduate of Boston College Hugh St Anselm College and Bryant 8. Stratton Mr Evans Cowboy Evans Returement does not mean unactuvuty for Mr Evans He has turned a lufe long unterest un antuques and wood workung unto a busuness that occupues hum dauly and lets hum contunue to serve hus fellow man MR STEWARTJ SHAW Stewart J Shaw was born un Phuladelphua and went to Ashland New Hampshure at an early age, and ut was here that he spent hus early school years Hus famuly later moved to Lowell Mass where Mr Shaw graduated from Lowell Hugh and Lowell Textule School after mauorung un enguneerung After completung the Mass Department of Educatuon Teacher Traunung Course he accepted a permanent appountment un the Boston School System un 1917 In October 1925 he became a cooperatuve unstructor and came to Dorchester Hugh School to teach cabunetmakung and to organuze the draftung department He buult thus department up to be the funest un the Boston School System and receuved many commendatuons from cuty, state and natuonal levels MR CHARLESW STAHL Charles W Stahl was graduated from Multon Hugh School un 1914 and started hus apprentuceshup as a patternmaker at the old B F Sturtevant plant un Hyde Park When the coll for volunteers for the furst World War un 1917 came he enlusted wuth the 377th Aero Squadron and served overseas after whuch he returned to complete hus apprentuce traunung Completung the Department of Educatuon Teacher traunung course he accepted a permanent appountment an the Boston School System un 1925 Hus furst assugnment was to the Old Boston Contunuatuon School Hus later assugnments were to Boston Technucal Hugh and Brandeus Vocatuonal School The last three years of hus servuce pruor to hus returement were spent at Dorchester Hugh School where we came to know hum untumately MR STIMSON WYETH Mr Stumson Wyeth was born un Needham and educated un the schools of that town He receuved hus Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Harvard and B U respectuvely He began hus teachung un a Mulutary school later he was teacher and pruncupal of Stoughton Hugh School Followung varuous teachung assugnments he became head of the Modern Language Department at Dorchester Hugh School from whuch he retured un December 1956 to be ap pounted to the teachung staff of Newton College of the Sacred Heart 3 . . - I ' ' ' I . .. . . ..
