Senior Class llislory In the fall of 1951, twenty-five bashful and shy students entered Dor- chester High School. After three weeks of school the sophomores gave us an initiation party which we remember well. Mrs. Sorenson was our class advisi- or and at our first meeting Norbert Schumacher was elected President; Myron Tauchen, Vice President; Joyce Riemer, Secretary-Treasurer. We ended the school year by going on a picnic to Marathon County Park. When we returned to school the following fall, there were five less. As sophomores we had our fun initiating the new members who took our place as freshies. That year Mr. Forsyth became our class advisior and remained also for our junior year. We took part in school activities and ended our sophomore year on a picnic at Wausau. We came back to school in 53 of our junior year with fourteen in our class. At our first Junior class meeting we elected Lawrence Bartnik as President and king of our junior prom. That year we put on bake sales to raise money for our prom. On the night of April 30, we danced to the theme song of Moonlight and Roses , music was furnished by Emil and His Band. Lawrence Bartnik and Joyce Riemer reigned as king and queen. We ended a very successful year by going to Cherokee Park with the sophomores. In the fall of '54 there were thirteen of us who came to Complete our final year of school. At our -first class meeting Mr. Wunsch was chosen class advisior. Our officers were: President, Myron Tauchen; Vice President, Lloyd Kalepp; Secretary, Joyce Riemer; and Treasurer, Joann Ortlieb. On November 12th after hard work and fun we presented the junior and senior class play, Boarding House Reach . It was directed by Mrs. Sorenson and was well attended and enjoyed by the audience. The motto chosen by the class is Today We Follow Tomorrow We Lead . Our class colors are rose and silver and our flower the red rose. On May 19, 1955, with gray caps and gowns, all thirteen seniors receiv- ed their diplomas at the evening commencement exercise held at Memorial Kail. Thus ending the history of our class.
