THE FRESHMAN STORY In the fall of 1948, twenty-four bashful and bewildered Freshies entered the doors of the Dorchester High School. Two of our members left us during the year. They were Louise Blazel and Glen Ludwig. The Sophomores properly initiated us on September 17. After that, we were allowed to take part in all activities which were a part of the D.H.S. Under the supervision of our advisor, Mrs. Sorenson, we elected the following officers: President............Edward Broeske Vice-President.........Jimmy Kramer Secretary....................Dennis Mertens Treasurer.............Mary Ann Sulik Thirteen Freshmen took part in band and after a half of year of hard work, were put in the Senior band. In the magazine campaign, we, with the Sophomores, came out as winners. Several of our class took part in forensics in their Freshman year. -Jkc4 'ia.sU 5 (}£ U 23

Braun SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY In the fall of “47” twenty students enrolled as Freshmen of the Dorchester High School. Only fifteen returned as Sophomores and during the year. Bill Copeland and Dennis Tischendorf left our class. Under the supervision of Mr. Schwierske, our class advisor, a class meeting was held and the following officers elected: President ............................. Albert Braun Vice-President...........................Elaine Gruny Secretary..........................Arlene Bedroske Treasurer ............................ Agnes Sedlack In the beginning of the year an inititation party was given for the Freshmen. Two nev teachers, Miss Carlson and Mr. Moser, were also initiated. Together with the Freshmen, we were the winners of the magazine campaign, A1 Braun being our top salesman. The Sophomore class was well represented in extra curricular activities. Those who took part in basketball were: Bill Hennlich, Don Springer, A1 Braun, and Paul Geiger. We all participated in forensics, and the majority of us in band and mixed chorus. One of the cheerleaders, Joanne Ludwig, is from our class. We have left behind us two enjoyable and successful years of high school and are looking forward to two more years that will be the same. 22
