“SENIOR CUSS HISTORY IT WAS BACK IN 1941, FOUR SHORT BUT EVENTFUL YEARS AGO, THAT THE PRESENT SENIOR CLASS ENTERED DORCHESTER HIGH, AS A GROUP OF THIRTY ONE BEWILDERED AND BA8FFUL FRESH- MEN. AFTER OUR INITIATION WE DID LOSE SOME OF OUR GREENESS, AND FROM THAT TIME ON WE BEGAN IN EARNEST TO SEE HOW MUCH COMPETITION WE COULD GIVE THE OTHER CLASSES. During our fresfman And sophomore years WE TOOK PART IN THE TOURNAMENT, AM) ALTHOUGH WE OID NOT WIN, IT WAS A GREAT DEAL OF FUN. Our JUNIOR YEAR WAS HIGH-IGHTED BY THE JUNIOR PROM, A FORMAL DANCE, WHICH TOOK PLACE IN MAY. Soon after school started this year we ELECTED OUR CLASS OFFICERS. CELINE SCHUMACHER WAS CHOSEN FOR PRESIDENT, AM4ABELLE 0RECKE FOR VICE-PRESIDENT, MILDRED SAILER FOR SECRETARY, and Beverly genrich for treasurer. with the help of miss Kelsey, our class ADVISOR, WE STARTED A BUSY YEAR. AFTER MISS Kelsey res igneo in February, miss chickering, FCR SUCCESSOR, BECAME OUR ADVISOR AM) HELPED US A GREAT DEAL, ESPEC I ALLY WITH OUR CLASS PLAY. This year, like every other year, we took part in the carnival. Our candidates FOR KING AM) QUEEN WERE ARTHUR BOX RUCKER and Celine Schjmacher. although our class WORKED HARD, THE SUPERIORITY IN MJMBER OF THE OTHER CLASSES LEFT US IN FOURTH PLACE. EACH YEAR A D, A R. AWARO IS GIVEN TO A GRADUATING SENIOR GIRL WHO IS OUTSTANDING IN LEADERSHIP, SCHOLARSHIP, AND CITIZENSHIP, This year severly genrich was selected to re- ceive THIS HONOR. We look back to the many good times we HAVE HAD IN DOR-HI, AND HOPE THAT OUR FUTURE YEARS MAY BE JUST AS HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL.
