FOOTBALL BANOUET One of the highlights of the 1965-66 schof year was the annual football banquet held on Friday night, December 17 , in the high school cafeteria. The colors of the Christmas season were carried out with decorations of red, green and white. Gaily decorated banquet table lined the dim, candle lit room, presenting pleasant atmosphere. Members of the football team, their dates, friends , and teachers were entertained at the banquet, which is sponsored annually by the Quarterback Club. Toastmaster for the evening was Mr. lack Sullivan, with Rev. Vandon R. Windsor giving the invocation. Entertainment was furnished during the evening by Miss Linda Wilson and Miss Nancy Burns . Mrs . Gwendolyn Jenkins , the cheerleader's sponsor, introduced the head cheerleader, Miss Mary Ballenger, who in turn introduced the other members of the group. Miss Sondra Grace present- ed Miss Ballenger with a token of appre- ciation from the cheerleaders. Mr. Roy Brown was presented a plaque by Coach Baugh proclaiming him MR, HOT- DCG OF THE YEAR. Football players were introduced and trophies awarded. Curry Cooper received the annual Lynn Palmer Award for Good Sportsmanship. Other players receiving awards were: Donald Rice, best back, and David Campbell, be: line-man. Mr. Morris Savage, an attorney and forme graduate, was the guest speaker for the occasion.
