v- v -vw -W v vcr' rv vw--Y --v THE DORA JUNIORS SPONSOR A BANOUET JASPER, Ala. , May 1 - The Junior Class of Dora I-ligh School sponsored a banquet in honor of the Senior Class, May first. The banquet began at seven thirty o'clock at the Musgrove Country Club in Jasper, Alabama. Rene Williams was master of ceremonies and many lovely songs were sung and played during the program, The Hallyhocks and girls sang appropriate songs for the garden setting which decorated the Banquet Hall. Judy Birmingham also added to the entertainment accompanied at the piano by Miss Sadie Roberts. Mr. Glenn Gant, principal of the school, gave the invocation and then a delicious steak dinner was en- joyed by all. After the meal, a toast was given the Seniors by Miss Charlotte Parker, the Queen Bee of the garden. Johnny Mack Brown gave the response, A Bouquet for the Juniors. The speaker for the Banquet was Mr. Louis D. Tyler, an instructor at Walker Junior College in Jasper. He talked on the importance of furthering education after high school. lt was a very inspiring talk which the students will long remember. After the program, Pat Camp- bell was crowned Queen of the Banquet. She had been chosen by the Junior Class in an elec- tion the day before the banquet. A Hootenanny and Dance fol- lowed the banquet. The dance music was supplied by Joe Gog- gins, Carroll Baird, and David Hall. Another year will pass before the next banquet and if it is en- joyed as much as the past one it will be a great success. - Betty Burroughs Pat Campbell
