Do we really bear the coveted title of Seniors ? If it is true indeed, then Father Time has dealt swiftly with our fyears at Dora High. lt seems as if it were only yesterday when we entered DHS as Sophomores. How utterly lost we were! We couldn't find our way about the campus for almost two weeks. Then, our bearings found, we captured the title of Homecoming Queen for our beautiful Jimmie Karol Scott. The week of Homecoming found napkins every- where and us busily poking them into the chicken wire that adorned our float. How swiftly the weeks turned into months and in hardly any time at all our Sophomore year was gone. Then we were Juniors! The other classes were determined to defeat us in the Homecoming contest, but we proved our metal and again one of our girls, Linda Whalen, occupied the Homecoming throne. Later some of our Juniors received invitations from the Beta and Science Clubs. For these the year was made complete by the Beta Convention and the Science trip to the Medical Center. Those who made these trips will never forget them. Before one could say Jack Robinson it was prom time and we as Juniors were to plan that highlight of the social season. We decided upon Showboat as our theme and decorated the auditorium accordingly. All good things must finally end, and so our Junior year ended --- SENIOR OFFICERS President Roy Reeves Vice-President Roy Cordell Secretary Jimmie Karol Scott Treasurer Mary Elliott Reporters Joan Goodwin June Smith Steve Wilson Seniors SANDRA AARON PA TRICIA BARNES Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned. Beauties CUZ cl Favorites Yes, undoubtedly, it is true. We are Seniors. Wonderful, pleasant memories point up that fact. In the person of Brenda Gann, we proved our good natured boast that we would capture the Home- coming Crown three years in succession. As always we made a float but it was faded by tears - whether the tears were prompted by the knowledge that it was to be the last time we would be engaged in such employment, or by the gigantic pins that were supposed to se- cure the flat sheeting but oftentimes secured fingers instead. New members were solemnly added to the Beta and Science Clubs but somehow the Senior members wore a mask of sadness. Magically, it was banquet time, then graduation - our graduation. We are wiser yet sadder for we must surrender the title of Seniors to another group and join the army of honored alumni. As we go forth to join that army, we carry with us the knowledge we acquired within the be- loved halls of Dora High, permanent friendships we cemented there, and memories of the wonderful years we invested there with mag- nificent returns. 919' Homecommg ueen, 63 MMD MAID Carolyn Burns BRENDA GANN Sharon Reed ESCORTS: Jimmy Bennett, Roger Miles, and Jimmy Dodd FIRST RUNNER UP Rebecca Campb 11 Miss Dora High School 963 g. 5- Beaut ,TIMINHE KAROL SCOTT Beauty SHARON REED Beauty CAROLYN BURNS Favorite Favorite ELIZABETH SA VA GE BRENDA GANN Favorite Favorite BRENDA OWENS MARY LOIS WATSON Good Citizenshzlv Girl ELIZABETH SAVAGE Hliss Senior IIMMIE K.-XROL SCOTT 3 Mr. Senior JIMMY HOOD Wai, Activities Mr. John Maxwell - - Mrs. Janet Maxwell Betty Lou Maxwell - - Bernadine Smith - - Wilbur Maxwell - - Hercules Nelson - - Connie Maxwell - - Craig Moore - - - Mr. Fred Moore - - Mr. Del Marshall - Aunt Mary ----- Miss Blayne - - - - by DONALD PAYTON CAST OF CHARACTERS fast Lucky 99 - - LARRY BROWNING - - MARY ELLIOTT - - - JANE CAGLE - - - LOUISA YOUNG - - - ROY CORDELL - - - - - RONNIE LEVELS JIMMIE KAROL SCOTT - - - - - - ROGER MILES - - EDWARD SANFORD ' ' .JERRY MARTIN - - JOAN GOODWIN - - JACKIE ROBINSON MR, MOORE - - - - - Director Don't just stand there, we're Ever heard of the bear hug'???
