Senior Class History This story begins the year 1952. Into D,H, S. crept twenty-four Freshmen. The fright of high school didn't last long and they were soon entering into all activities. They chose Mrs. Aldridge as their sponsor. During the year they chose the following to lead them through their first year at Dongola High: Ronnie Joe Karraker, Presidentg Bobby Schluter, Vice-President, Patty Karraker, Secretary-Treasurer, Velda Sivia, Reporter, Mina Jo Plott, Student Councilg Phyllis Sheffer was chosen queen candidate with Bruce Williams as her escort. Carolyn Earnhart was elected F, F, A, Chapter Sweetheart. Phyllis Sheffer was chosen Cheerleader. When school bells next rang-out, only 19 Sophomores returned. These, however, were much older and wiser than when they first began their experience in high school. We chose the same sponsor, Mrs. Aldridge. Serving as officers this year were: Bruce Williams, Pres- identg Joe Davis, Vice-President, Henrietta Bryan, Secretary-Treas- urerg Ronnie Joe Karraker, Student Council. Chosen for queen candi- date was Mina Jo Plott with her escort being Bobby Schluter. Bobby Schluter and Kenny Corzine represented our class on the first five in basketball. Sixteen Juniors enrolled to walk the road of learning for the third year. We, also, chose Mrs. Aldridge as sponsor. The officers were Kenny Corzine, President, Patty Karraker, Vice-President, Carolyn Earnhart, Secretary, Henrietta Bryan, Treasurer, Ronnie .Toe Karraker, Reporterg Bobby Schluter, Student Council. Carolyn Earn- hart was chosen queen candidate with Kenny Corzine as her escort. The Juniors put on a very successful play under the direction of Mrs. Aldridge. The play was Happy Daze. The big event of the year was the Junior-Senior prom which was held on May 13 by the Juniors in honor of the Seniors. The prom was a big success with the theme of Hawaiian Cruse. It was held at Giant City State Lodge. Kenny Corzine and Bobby Schluter were again representing the class on the first five in basketball. This year, our last, only 16 Seniors returned to the halls of D. H, S, The officers this year: Mina Jo Plott, President, Ronnie JO Karraker, Vice-Presidentg Velda Sivia, Secretaryg Carolyn Earnhart, Treasurer, Max Youngblood, Reporter, Kenny Corzine, Student Council. The can- didate for queen was Henrietta Bryan with Max Youngblood as her escort. Henrietta was chosen queen for the Fall Festival and for the first time in four years the queen was chosen from our class. Mina Jo Plott was elected cheerleader from our class. For the third straight year Kenny Corzine and Bobby Schluter were chosen on the first five in basketball, with Ronnie Joe Karraker and Wayne Whiteside also being elected on the first six. Mrs. O'Brien was elected sponsor. The Sen- iors made a trip through the South. The states they toured were Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. With this the Seniors ended a successful four years at D, H. S, and became graduates of Dongola High School. 27

Charles Houston--wills his wavy hair to Donnie Steele. Joan Hutchison--wills her ability to talk to Gene Alexander. Linda Lou Eddleman- -will'become a private secretary of the boss of a big firm, Charles Houston--will be the leading man in one of the greatest love stories ever shown as a movie. Joan Hutchison--will be sole owner of the Merry Mix. Patty Karraker--will be the president of an athletic club. Ronnie Karraker--will probably become the world's Champion Twirler Frances Keller--will be a midget for the Ringling Bros. Circus. Mary Lou Osman--will be a housekeeper for someone else. Mina Jo Plott--will be a square dancer for C. B.S, Bobby Schluter--will be hunting coons for Davy Crockett hats. Velda Sivia--will be riding around in. a Mercury ten years from now. Wayne Whiteside--will become the world's greatest pie eater. Bruce Williams--will become the world's fastest runner. Max Youngblood--will be yelling Henri.
