ZVMM, REM IN ISCENCE Today I turned the pages back To ponder o'er the past, Each milestone held a memory As vivid as the last. In '46 as Freshmen . We were young and rather green, It's funny to recall now How timid we all seemed. But things began to happen fast, And gradually we learned That there were lofty goals to seek Everywhere we turned. So we became a part of school Which was foremost in our hearts, As in the busy schedule We took our separate parts. As nineteen forty-seven passed, This milestone made it plain I The progress we had made And the knowledge we had gained. We gave our all for Donelson No matter what the cost, Our efforts were the same Whether we won or lost. The joys we sharedg the tears we shed Were all a part of fate, We met them with unswerving pride In nineteen forty-eight. But we were Donelson graduates Ere another year had passed And smiles and tears were mingled To think it was our last.
