To one who has long deserved the honor, we wish to dedicate THE GOLDEN HORN to Mr.
Floyd Boutte. It is but an humble effort to show our appreciation for his many years of hard work
He has inspired the students of Donaldsonville High School and made men and women of
the boys and girls who have participated in interscholastic athletics.
Mr. Boutte's leadership is not only felt here at school, but also in this community where he
has given so generously of his time and effort.
As coach, he has consistently produced winning teams in spite of many handicaps--height,
weight, numbers--and each one of us has learned from him the true meaning of good sportsman-
ship--how to play the game in sports and in everyday life. We hope to remember always for
the lesson he has taught us-- "For when the One Great Scorer .
Comes to write against your name,
He writes not if you won or lost,
But how you played the game. "

The prime aim of The Golden Horn staff is to record with pic-
tures the events of the year. As you continue through this annual you
will find that we have done more than to include the pictures of your
teachers, classmates and school activities, we have added brief writ-
ten descriptions of the year's activities in band, athletics, and organ-
izations. These descriptions in time to come will add to the value of
the pictures and make the memory of the 1954-1955 school year even
This year's staff has been well-balanced as far as distribution of
work is concerned. Each member of the senior class has a feeling of
pride in our yearbook because he has shared in the compiling of it.
Our most sincere thanks go to all the wonderful people who have
made this annual possible, particularly Mr. Conrad Goette, Mrs. Paul
Granada, our photographer and all our advertisers.

DONALDSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL
C. C. GOETTE. PRINCIPAL
March l, 1955
To the Students:
Today our third Golden Horn goes to press. It will
serve as the third link in what we hope will become an
unbroken chain of annuals portraying life at Donaldsonville
Our grateful thanks go to the class of l955 for their
efforts in bringing to us, in words and pictures, the his-
tory of this scholastic year. That the Golden Horn of
1955 may serve as a challenge to our underclassmen is the
fond hope of your principal.
