The world follows false lights and so finds itself in ever blaeker darkness. But there is ll true light that enlightens every man that comes into the world. If we follow the light of Christ, and not the false lights ol the world which at times burn brighter and feel closer, we are given the power to be made the sons of God. For this was the Word made flesh, that man might be born, not of nature or of man, but of God. This is love. This is the way and the truth and the life, This is the light of Christ. But it is ei hidden light. Dom I-lubert:'Van Zeller, O.S.B. Volume II SBIIIOFS ads .........., 230 fa STAQAFE ww . Prendiville with some ideas for next year. Dear Graduates: Your high school course has now come successfully to an end. The years have piled one upon another as you have accumulated the knowledge, skills and habits necessary for the adult world. As you set out toward distant goals the hard work of the past four years will begin to reap untold benefits for you. Life is a continual learning process and even though you have established good foundations of character and learning, it is important that you face future challenges with confidence ever ready to profit from new experiences and fresh opportunities. Your past application to work and study will have supplied you with the skills and knowledge necessary to take your place as valuable and intelligent members of the modern technological society. However, skill and knowledge alone cannot give ultimate assurance of success. Faith in God's loving Providence, and the moral strength that comes from years of living according to His law, will give depth and balance and meaning to your lives. It is precisely in the spiritual values you have learned to cherish that you will find the answer to your deepest problems and the key to true success and happiness. The prayers of your teachers and instructors go with you as you take your place in the ranks of the Bosco-Tech alumni. May the friendships you have established with teachers and classmates grow even stronger over the years in spite of physical separation. To the Class of 1967, our best wishes for success and happiness. May God bless you always! Sincerely yours, Rev. Thomas J. rendiville, S.D.B. Principal fu . , . , , Rev. The curriculum is structured around and designed to meet three requirements: Qlj the training prepares the graduate to i Z take a job in which he will be productive, QZQ the broad, technical training, together with a reasonable amotmt of experience, enables the graduate to advance to positions of increasing responsibility, and f3jthe foundation provided by the training is broad enough so that the graduate can do further study within his field of technology. The specialized technical courses in technology consits of: machine tool operation, manufacturing functions and processes, principles of machining, numerical control, and machine controls. The auxiliary or supporting technical courses are: mechanical drafting, blueprint reading and safety. The graduate should perform satisfactorily in a job requiring: machining, drafting or inspecting. Prendiville concelebrates Mass on the day members were received into the Sodality. 192 Student receives communion from Fr. Larry Lorenzoni at the concelebrated Mass on the Feast of St john Bosco The Sodality, as its special function, imparts to its members the knowledge and zeal necessary to work for Christ in this world. This knowledge is derived from an intensive spiritual training program un dertaken by all aspirants, wherein the Sodality's history, rules, pre- sent province, and papal documents are studied and practiced. The zeal is obtained from the main source of sanctifying grace provided by Christ, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Holy Eucharist. The ultimate aim of the Sodality is to prepare the Techrnan to be- come a worthy citizen of two worlds, the spiritual and the physical. His physique may be developed out on the athletic field, but his soul he himself must perfect before that day when he is called before the Almighty to give answer to the question: Have you loved your neigh- bor as I have loved you? 193 lbw'-'-Ural: I 1 F ,iff :ini ?f tu Fl' al mfg Row 1. To us, this means no more long hours, fewer worries, and a sense of accomplishment. In my job as editor, I want to express my deep gratitude to everyone and anyone who has helped with this annual. First, the staff who has worked after school, on Saturdays, on Sundays, and throughout the night to complete copy and captions in order to meet a deadline. To the assistant editors, KERRY GUGINS, MANUEL BUR- ROLA, DON I-IESSE, BILL MATHEUS, ERNESTO VASQUEZ, and their assistants, MIKE TOMREN, GREG CARINGELLA, BILL MEISTER, BRUCE LIMING, AND BOB SULLIVAN, I want to give a special thanks . To BOB VESSELY, the art director, goes respect, recognition, and gratitude for his perseverance, for doing his work three times over, for taking on extra assignments, and for putting up with the comments from Mr. Freifield. The layout department, ANGEL MANZANO, CARMEN SACCO, DAVID POWERS, STE FAN HANSELE AND TONY KURPAKUS deserves special acknow ledgement for their long hours of laying out the pages. I want to thank the advertise- ment section, BILL BARCLAY and CARLOS CHAVEZ, for soliciting ads and leading the patron drive. The student photographers, RON HUSSEY and PETE MULLALY are responsible for many of our candids and the activity pictures. I want to thank MR. DAN SPRAGUE AND MR. TOM MILLER OF GLENBRIER STUDIOS for helping to meet our deadlines by producing pictures on short notice. Thanks also to MR. JOHN THOMAS, Yearbook Representative, for his many sug- gestions which helped make our book so pleasing. Thanks go to all our advertisers for their support and to the AMERICAN YEAR- BOOK COMPANY for publishing our annual. To all members of the faculty who excused me or any member of the staff from class or shop, I give my thanks. Special thanks go to Father Prendiville, Mr. Stebler, Brother Saavedra and the Industrial Drafting Seniors. MR. AND MRS . BARCLAY deserve our thanks for their aid in the patron drive. There is one person, however, who deserves more thanks, more respect, more recognition, and more headache pills than we can give. I am sure that the entire staff will agree with me that without his drive, perseverance, and enthusiasm, this annual would be nothing. This person, of course, is BROTHER JOSEPH LOCKWOOD. All I or any of the staff can say is thank you. Now the annual is finished. The staff and myself feel that our efforts have been very rewarding. We sincerely hope you agree.
