34 Uaganf mman She is prudent, for there are dangers that beset her maturing girlhood, this modern-day heresy that would allege a spurious definition to her appeal. She is strong, for there are the weak who look to her for courage that life's abrasions may not wear their ideals away. She is big, for life's petty smallnesses dilute the strong stream of char- ity pulsing from the divine Heart, and her understanding heart seeks within itself for motive in responding. She 'is good, for a weak world crying in its self-devised misery looks to her for the pure stream of divine peace running deep through a soul ver- dant in the grace of God. For her, obedience is triumph, purity is beauty, charity, the voice of God. Memories of her childhood innocence mature into planned accomplish- ment in the lives of others, that the deep reservoir in her soul, nourished from the copious Wellspring of divine grace, quench those thirsting for the true and beautiful. g She is the courageous Joan defending her own, the chaste Agnes guarding her heart, she is Catherine cherishing the Church, Margaret Mary glowing in the Sacred Heart, Gertrude loving the Blessed Sacra- ment, she is Mary mothering Christ in the hearts of men.
