Ci3.Vl2ilICI' Chatter bf jeanne It began when my name was drawn from a cup. Then I, too, joined in with C-A, G-A, C-A-V-A, bursting from room 6 every Thursday, emerging from the gym, and drifting down the halls. I remember the swim-meet, my Hrst experience in team competition, the hockey game, and then volleyball and basketball with clever decorations. I remember seeing Oscar perched on his roost at the Last Rally, taking in the spirit on the face of each Cavalier. Now four years have passed, and I can look back at three other Last Rallies. The Cavaliers have really had their share of glory, so it's no wonder that the spirit of the Red and White affects each member of the team just as it has always done me. is Hee me new li at our silliness. At hrst base, discovering that the opposition was equally jittery, I was flooded with relief. Base running proved quite hazard- ous due to the dewy, well-watered grass. How- ever, it was also a very dehnite asset, since we often slid right into base! As the day rolled merrily on lsomeone tin- kered with the clocksj, more fun came. A group of us was deterrnined to see the horse show . . . well, we really saw it! Standing close to the fence, we heard the brisk snap of leather and the regular pacing of horse's hooves, we also re- alized that we were literally . . . and liberally covered with powder-Hne dust from head to toe: the perfect picture of eager, budding fresh- men at the end of a particularly perfect Playday. Roundhead Ramblings IU Babs Tonight isn't really differentg everywhere I look I see 'smiles and shining eyes, that usual Roundhead spontaneity. There are seven minutes to say seventy things-then the bellg this one ringing for our last rally. I have the same feeling inside of me which I've had all year Qsomeone told me it's caused by extra- ordinary Roundhead Spirit, an epidemic which one hundred girls, a superior sponsor, and a wise ole parrot had all yearj. The funny thing about this spirit is the way it kept popping up. Parrots were all over fone in particular eating Cavalier piejg thumbs were stuck up and something called a Roundhead Shake happenedg fathers and mothers joined in the feeling-no one could resist! The bell is going to ring and I still haven't said much . . . maybe words aren't very important, maybe it's just the feelings inside which count. I hope so, be- cause these last, and we all have the same ones for the ssc. 'Basis Se' same reason-wc're Roundheads! l Spiritflled, amz-playing Cavaliers can do more than just cheer.
