Mrs. Mary O'Moore Delaney Dedication The inaudible and noiseless foot of Timev has measured out twenty-five years of teaching for Mrs. Mary O'Moore Delaney, Dominican's physi- cal training instructor, dancing teacher and dra- matic coach. Twenty-five years at Dominican! ANGELICUS 1964 salutes Mrs. Delaney and voices the congratulations of hundreds of stu- dents Who once s-tood in position on the gym floor. There were rhythms of marching and pat- terns of exercises, there were dance positions and basic steps, there were countless instructions that have echoed and re-echoed around the spa- cious gymnasium. The music has changed over the years and so has the dance, but the teacher had ever been special, sterling, fine, the glass Wherein the noble youth did dress themselves. Thrilling F irst-Nighters, flattering curtain calls of such unforgettable shows as: The Belle of Barcelona, Irene,', The Red Mill, Finian,s Rainbow, Student Princef Song of Norwayf' Oklahoma,', Music Man, and The Boy Friend stir in the memories of once-upon-a- time seniors when they hear of Mrs. Delaney- so gifted, so dedicated, so altogether .a priceless part of the fabric that is Dominican. Celebrating the four-hundredth anniversary of William Shakespeare, ANGELICUS 1964 pre- sents Dominican Commercial, a tiny part of the World's stagei' across which stepped some fif- teen hundred students, some fifty faculty mem- bers, the lead being played by Mrs. Delaney. ln Tribute For God and Country Simple Words And shared by simple men Two Iohns In star-crossed history Above our human ken. Both stood apart In time and space Touching Godis immensity. Alert to sounds Of busy earth Brushing immortality. Both trembled on The mindis frontier Lauded by mortal glamour. Both knelt to laws Of God and man Amid incessant clamour. Now both rest silent Forever still Amid the Worldis wild Weeping While others grasp The fallen torch And plan a fruitful reaping.
