I A 635. Trained in the principles of business law, Kathleen Somerville, Louisa Fink and Eileen Schurr will know what to expect and what to do in living under the law. To master substantive LAVV to the point where one can act as her own legal advisor in money business transactions spells out one of the purposes of the law course. The contents of the program included: common types of contracts, nego- tiable instruments, insurance, bailments, torts, regulations concerning motor vehicle operation and insurance, property ownership and management, types of business organizations, and courts and their functions. Technicalities abounded, but students persevered realizing that mastery here would ensure successful handling of current, practical situations in the business of living. In their study of BOOKKEEPING students sought to develop habits of order and clear-thinking that will be useful in any field of activity. The instructions in account keeping, posting, financial statement such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets, petty cash books and pay roll with its accompanying tax problems all helped to answer the need for efficiency and preparedness in the world of business, be it large or small.
