tried to say this same thing ever so often, but the words would mix with my mingled emotions and lodge in my throat. Mother and Dad, there isstill a tenderness I have not expressed and, try though I might, I can't tell you yitg, ,you have in- fluenced me. You are always near me, always reverenced, alwvaymszfcxgxz 'ffgour labors will be rewarded when the Lord looks down upon you With Hisi blessiriigsf and ad- dresses you proudly, f'Well done good and faithful servants. I ' Your loving DAUGHTER. tMargaret Colette Lynn.J g .., s .mn .mfmpreefpifion up UR four years have been completed. We stand'on the renowned .Uthreshold of life, ready to embark on our careers. But before We cross that threshold, we wish to express our gratitude to all who have made those years so fruitful. We will try our best to convey our feelings--but we know that never, never shall we be able to put into words the thankfulness in our hearts. First of all, we extend our sincerest appreciation to Sister M. Rose Gertrude, O.P., our Reverend Principal, and to the Faculty. We admire your patience, your perseverance, your untiring zeal. We realize that, at times, we must have tried that patience-and we wish to laud you for your courage, to apologize to you for any anxious moments we might have caused you. As we look back, all our little trials and discouragements seem infinitesimal compared to the joys of learning which you brought to us. And so, again and again we thank you. To those girls we leave behind us at Dominican, we give our thanks for pleasant companionships. You have helped to make our school days happy ones, and what greater service is there, than to bring happiness to others? To our beloved Dominican Commercial High School, we reserve a special place in our Hall of Gratitude. Within your four walls, we have learned many lessons- not from books alone, but from experience, and from the example of our teachers. We have learned the meaning of true Faith, we have learned how to practice that Faith, we know how to defend it against its opponents. To you, Alma Mater, we offer the utmost expression of appreciation. And to our parents, who have made it possible for us to enjoy all the benefits of a Catholic high school, we can not ever hope to show the depths of gratefulness which we feel. We can only say again, f'Thank you, and we know YOU will understand. Our ode of thanksgivingf' is finished. Looking back over all we have said, we realize again the inadequacy of words. The feeling that we have is too wonderful to utter. We shall say no more. But even though our lips can not give full expres- sion to our song of praise, our hearts will ever hum its glorious tune. May God bless all who have helped us on our way toward a successful life, a true, strong, happy life patterned after the Catholic Ideal. 10
