Everyone had alot of fun, especially the seniors who had one last fling before they graduated and were thrust out into the “big bad world.” 7 Graduation a It’s graduation and it’s unbelievable that I’m here. They'll call my name in a few minutes, and I'l walk up to receive my diploma. . . where do | go from there? I’ve always had the security of the school routine and its activities, surrounded by the friends | was so familiar with. Now we'll all be going in different directions, and | wonder how long it will be before the memories that meant so much start to fade. After all these years of this you would think | would be ready to move on, but I feel like I’m leaving a part of me behind. Maybe that’s good though, because | really have changed in the years that I’ve been here. Well, pretty soon they'll get to my name. Then I’Il be up there, and it'll be all over. In a way, | guess every- thing’s really just beginning. 74 Student 6obernment With many different faces and personalities working together, with new and innovative ideas, this year’s student government planned and organized many activities for both the student body and community. St. Mary’s School CONGRATULATIONS to the CLASS of '79 The Business Club 185 186 The Passage of Time — Kahlil Gibran You would measure time the measureless and the immeasurable. You would adjust your conduct and even direct the course of your spirit according to hours and seas ons. Of time you would make a stream upon whose bank you would sit and watch its flowing. Yet the timeless in you is aware of life’s timelessness, And knows that yesterday is but today’s memory and tomorrow is today’s dream. And that, that which sings and contemplates in you is still dwelling within the bounds of that first moment which scattered the stars into space. Who among you does not feel that his power to love is boundless? And yet who does not feel that very love, though boundless, encompassed within the centre of his being, and moving not from love thought to love tho ught, nor from love deeds to other love deeds? And is not time even as love is, undivided and spaceless? But if in your thought you must measure time into seasons, let each season encircle all the other seasons, And let today embrace the past with remembrance and the future with longing.
