aubade ‘72 dominican college blauvelt, new york — We came from different places, worlds apart and somehow when we came, we came together we came with different beliefs and attitudes but somehow as we lived and grew, we came together MAKING SENSE of such a remarkable happening is difficult in the few lines available and so we prefer to tell you throughout this Aubade '72 by presenting ourselves as pieces of a large and intricate puzzle We feel the world to be so intricate, so complex and ourselves to be so small... but in these moments of smallness and insignificance we remember that the puzzle would not be solvable or complete without us; without you. Watch the pieces falling together filling an empty building with a life that is. Fay eta 4 ods ins eA oa ee P Pah, OR a RO C2 4 . ay Sh iw The puzzle paints a changing-scene — evolving in time each of us with our jagged edges do in this special time 1972 interlock to form the picture DOMINICAN COLLEGE. ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY Education — the process of making sense of a puzzling world learning to discriminate the many shapes and hues that form that world. Educators are a part of that large puzzle guiding and influencing students so through questioning and searching all the puzzle pieces can interlock and come together. Sr. Natalie Casey has been a dedicated administrator of our college for five years. Her tireless efforts to make Dominican College a unique and worthwhile place for all of us are only matched by her sense of awareness and inter- est in the well being of D.C.'s students. In recognition of her outstanding qualities as administra- tor, Sr. Natalie was awarded the Sr. Rose Aquin Distin- guished Administrator Award by the N. Y.S. Federation of Foreign Language Teachers. We, too, would like to ex- press our gratitude to Sr. Natalie for her unceasing devotion to D.C. and its students. SR. NATALIE CASEY President Registrar Manager 1ness S a 4 za) ea) fs od n SR. THE STUDENT BODY 172 173 174 Puzzling pieces these that have flown in all directions but finally came to rest — MAKING SENSE in this special time 1972. 175 But what if our joys of today are empty? what if the excitement was as superficial as a carnival Palisades Park closed that summer the paint, so garish and lively had faded by winter the carousel was mute and the stirrups hung empty off sagging, wooden horses no shouts, no squeals of fright, no whine or click or grate of wheel on rails Were you ever young with meé¢ was this time real or did we just pretend to be young the way the park pretended to be gay and just as one amusement ended, did another? did we squander our time, our love or our joy? Should we have held back, and saved our laughter or our tears? Will we need them later? But reason tells us that each moment must be held and kept and then let pass Remembering the best and loving it — the worst and learning from it. 7 « i] | 4 oad 62t AE _ - Se ; : ; E 7 : ; 7 ps a ? 7 ™ d + ay vaso ae af a le . tee ” ah ‘ eo iat; h = ¢ = - r het ic y Vine i . cag ie 3 Og es f Lar ‘er : age ; 2 REF gs INNS = ; . ee at 44, 4- os ce ae ity : Pa y 70 Fi aoe rey UG Sh TEARBOOKS | an
