The general concensus at the meeting was high in regard to our participation in the ASG, because it was felt that much was to be benefited by joining. Several reasons offered for this were that we might learn and grow, it would put D.C. SG on a nationally known basis with other Student Governing bodies. The Cultural Committee sub- mitted a budgé@t from which they will sponsor a Cultural program. The budget will .be $4800 for the year. All the pro- grams sponsored will be open RAID’s budget of $450.00 as itemized in red by Mr. Brennan was accepted. The Women’s Varsity basket- ball budget of $460 was ac- cepted. It was commented how reasonable the amount of the budget was. The Women’s Var- sity is to be complimented. The Glee Club budget of $475 was rejected. Dougherty stated that the SG wishes to support the Glee Club because it is a beneficial and integral part of the college, however, SG does not feel it should pay the salary of the director as she is listed as a Faculty member in the catalogue. President Dougher- ty will contact the Administra- tive Council concerning this is- sue.
