Q4 Q , I 'M.r!M,' MONOGRAM CLUB in U The highest tribute which I can pay to Madison's Monogram Club is to say that Iam very nearly as proud of being sponsor to such a fine organization as I am of being principal of the school itself. lt is my firm conviction that no other single factor in the social and educational life of our school has contributed so much to the general morale, school spirit, and democratic attitudes of our student body. Every entering pupil, whether he or she be proficient in athletics or not, is imbued with the sure knowledge that the Green M can be won through service to one's fellow pupils and to one's teachers, for this, in essence, is service to the school itself. PETERSON Madison boasts of having the only mixed junior high school glee club in the county. Not only have we improved our style of singing, and learned to carry a part, but we have had lots of fun while gaining exper- ience. Besides all this we have participated in the following: the P.T.A. Christmas program, the Shirling- ton Christmas program, the Christmas Assembly, the P.T.A. Variety Show, and the County Music Festival.

STUDENT PATROL The Student Patrol is the Police Force of the school. It enforces the rules which have been established for the benefit of the student body. Mr. Rountree is in charge of this group. NEWSPAPER CLUB - EDITOR, JIMMY GOOGE SPONSOR, MISS 'WELLINGTON The Newspaper Club has the job of writing and publishing all of Madison's news. Since the school has no print shop, the club has a real publishing problem. The news is collected, set up, and edited by the students of the club. All contributions from the rest of the school are welcomed and published when space permits.

BON The Dramatics and Radio Club presented one three-act cmd two one-act plays this year. Members spent not only club periods but also many hours after school, and contributed a great deal to the morale and en- joyment of the student body, the parents, the teachers, and themselves. ART CLUB ' PRESIDENT, RAY TODD SECRETARY, DELMAR SRRINGER v1cE-PRESIDENT, EOE BALDWIN SECRETARY, MARY KAY BUSH SPONSOR, MISS JEFFRIES The Art Club, established in 1947, was open to all students for two years. At the present, however, the students who are outstanding in the subject are chosen for membership. Activities of the club are: making posters and advertisements for the school, decorating bulletin boards, drawing and painting for the library, and drawing for the yearbook.
