FIRST ROW: Glennard Palmer, Norris Yarbrough, Gaylon Presley, Sammy Cross, Sonny Crane, Billy Young. SEC OND ROW, STANDING: Manager Jimmy Vardaman, Freddy Bailey, Larry Cato, Kenneth Schrantz, Bobby Piercy, Howard Corder, Thomas Dodson, Lawrence Daniels, Johnny Presley, Billy Welch, Coach Herbert Morris. Sr. Boys Basketball Victory seemed to be the motto of the Senior Boys basketball team during the season of 1957-58. It was a very successful year as the team proudly won the Jefferson County Conference. Their success was the result of many hours of practice and scrimmage sessions under the capable coaching of Coach Morris. Red Daniels will be remembered as high point man with an average of 20 points per game. Norris Yarbrough and Johnny Presley were runners up in scoring averages, while Billy Welch's speed put him in the spot where he was needed in every game. Larry Cato, a sophomore, and Bobby Piercy, a tall llth grader, showed promising capabilities for the team of '59, We were all proud of the honor the basketball team of '58 brought to our school. 34

The girls have perfected many of the basic fundamentals and learned many new plays.
